Hair Loss Treatment with

An Overview

We are excited to offer a revolutionary, non-invasive hair loss treatment called TED by Alma. With this device a topical Hair Care Formula is delivered to the hair follicle by a TransEpidermal Delivery (TED) system. The goal of this treatment is to stimulate your dormant hair follicles to start growing hair, to extend the growing phase of the hair follicle, decrease hair shedding, and to increase the thickness of the hair shaft resulting in an overall increase in hair density. There are multiple advantages to this treatment, including no pain, no down-time and no post-treatment hair shedding. Additionally, some patients do not respond to PRP/PRF injections as their specific type of hair loss is affected by hormones. Therefore, by utilizing the Hair Care Formula, we are avoiding the hormones that are in your blood.

The Science

TED utilizes an ultrasound-based system that creates acoustic sound waves to loosen the epidermal barrier and push the serum through the top layers of the skin and into the hair follicle. No needles or incisions into the skin are required to deliver the Hair Care Formula to the hair follicles in the scalp.

What to Expect

Prior to your first TED treatment, you will meet with one our medical providers to diagnose your specific type of hair loss and discuss your treatment options. If TED treatments are decided as a good option for your specific type of hair loss, then another appointment will be scheduled to begin the TED treatments.

This pain-free treatment is performed in our office by one of our trained medical staff. During the treatment, you will feel a warm sensation and pressure. Some patients may hear ringing in their ears that should resolve once the treatment is complete. After the treatment is completed, any discomfort that is experienced due to the pressure or heat should resolve prior to leaving the office. Some patients may experience a slight headache during or after the treatment.

Most patients require 3 sessions, one month apart and maintenance treatments every 9 months. Some patients require a 4th treatment. Patients are scheduled with one of our medical providers after 3 sessions to evaluate the results and determine if another treatment is needed.
