Forma is a non-invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that utilizes radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production, providing an optimal skin remodeling treatment that tightens skin, improves skin elasticity, and reduces the overall signs of aging. Thermal energy flows between the electrodes providing enough heat that the tissue contracts without causing damage or burning the skin. This revolutionary skin tightening device is known as a “red-carpet treatment” for its immediate plumping and vitalizing benefits. Forma is painless, safe, and effective on all skin types.

Intense Pulsed Light with

Lumecca restores skin by removing pigmented and vascular lesions that result from sun damage or age. It is especially effective at reducing the appearance of age spots, freckles, telangiectasias (broken blood vessels), redness, rosacea, and other forms of sun damage or pigmentation irregularities. Lumecca is also a wonderful option to treat wrinkles, lines, scars, and large pores. Lumecca safely harnesses powerful thermal energy from Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to deliver the gold standard in photofacial treatments with minimal discomfort.

Deep Tissue Remodeling with

Morpheus8 safely utilizes powerful fractionated radio frequency coupled with the advantages of microneedling to produce deep skin rejuvenation. By penetrating the deepest layer of skin with thermal energy, Morpheus8 remodels the sub-dermal adipose tissue and stimulates collagen production to rejuvenate the building blocks of youthful, smooth, radiant skin. It is especially helpful at reducing wrinkles, the appearance of acne scarring, and improving skin laxity.

Alma Hybrid

The Hybrid laser utilizes revolutionary technology that combines both CO2 (ablative) and 1570 nm (non-ablative) fractionated lasers to allow for an optimal blend of ablative, coagulative, and thermal effects on the skin in a customized and highly precise treatment. The HyGrid technology within the Alma Hybrid laser allows our providers to customize your treatment based on your skin type, aesthetic goals, and expected downtime. This uniquely synergist effect of the Hybrid laser allows for exceptional results without the pain and downtime of a traditional CO2 laser.

Body Sculpting with

Transform is an innovative non-invasive, hands-free treatment that builds and strengthens muscles while enhancing the appearance of the skin by tightening the tissue, stimulating collagen production, and shrinking the fat without needles or surgery. This dual technology delivers a no downtime alternative for sculpting and refining the body in the comfort of the clinic. It is the perfect combination treatment for all areas and body types.

Red Light and Infrared Light Therapy

Red light therapy was first utilized in the medical field to accelerate wound healing, but numerous studies have shown that it can relieve pain, decrease inflammation, reduce redness, lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve elasticity and even out the skin tone. Red light and near infrared light therapy work through a process called photobiomodulation. Whereby a photon (packet of energy) of red light or near infrared light interacts with a cell causing a chemical change that alters how the cell functions. Depending on the cell that the photon interacts with, the cell may proliferate better, it may induce a reparative change in damaged tissue, or it may just function better and produce more proteins such as collagen and elastin.

We are all aware that light can affect skin, as dermatologists have recommended to limit ultraviolet (UV) light exposure because we know that UV light can cause negative effects on the skin by damaging cellular DNA and break down structural proteins (collagen and elastin) that support the skin. However, red light and near infrared light have positive or rejuvenating effects on the skin. Not all wavelengths of red or near infrared light are the same. Studies have shown that red light at 633 nm wavelength and near infrared light at 830 nm wavelength are the two most effective wavelengths to stimulate the skin.

At Central Minnesota Dermatology we offer LMNT by Alma. This hand-held device combines both red light (633 nm) and near infrared light (830 nm) and delivers it to the skin with a sequential pulsed mode and duration to stimulate your skin’s cellular energy. This Class II at-home device is FDA cleared to reduce the appearance of periorbital wrinkles and boost collagen.

Despite being cleared for treatment of wrinkles around the eyes, given the convenient design of this device, the treatment areas are endless. Consider also treating the neck or chest, or maybe the back of the hands or the skin on the forearms. How about the scalp? Red light and near infrared light therapy have been shown to help increase hair growth and strand thickness in both men and women.

Red light therapy is a great way to supplement your anti-aging routine at home. This quick and comfortable therapy is easy to incorporate into your everyday routine to maximize your results and even help maintain your results between treatments.

It is recommended that you use the LMNT three times a week for the first month and then once a week for maintenance. Each zone is treated for 4 minutes. To treat an entire face, it takes 12 minutes. The device should not be used over the eyelids. It can be used at any age and on any skin type. It is safe to use during pregnancy.

Cosmetic Injectables

As we age, changes in our appearance become more pronounced and we no longer see the youthfulness we remember when we look in the mirror. You may have noticed lines on your forehead, between your eyebrows, or around the outside of your eyes. Perhaps you have lines that linger after you smile or around your mouth. Possibly your cheeks look a little gaunt or your lips could use more volume. Much to our frustration, these changes occur naturally over time. Lines and wrinkles form after years of repetitive facial muscle actions such as laughing, smiling, and squinting. Loss of volume in your face occurs as the collagen our body produced in our youth diminishes over time. Damage caused by free radicals from the sun and the environment may also contribute to the formation of lines on your face. Central Minnesota Dermatology offers neurotoxin and dermal filler injections that can help minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, folds, and volume loss, restoring a more youthful appearance.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels are typically used for facial resurfacing but can also be used for the treatment of acne. Chemical peels are grouped by their depth of penetration and subsequent removal of the skin. A light peel removes the outermost layer of the skin (epidermis), provides subtle improvement over time, and they are often done in a series. Light peels are often referred to as “lunchtime” peels as there is little or no downtime. A medium-depth chemical peel removes the outermost layer or the skin (epidermis) and the upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). Downtime from this type of peel is a few days to a week. A deep chemical peel penetrates down to the lower part of the middle layer of the skin (dermis). A deep chemical peel is a one-time only treatment with significant downtime of often 14-21 days and is performed under general anesthesia. Chemical peels are typically performed on the face but can also be used on the neck and back of the hands.

During a chemical peel, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which causes injury and stimulates the healing process of our skin to produce new collagen and elastin resulting in skin rejuvenation and giving a more youthful appearance. Chemical solutions typically used include glycolic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), salicylic acid, lactic acid and/or carbolic acid (phenol). The choice of chemical solution or combination of chemical solutions will provide different results. Chemical peels can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, photodamage, dull complexion, scarring, melasma, acne and actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions). Typical side effects of chemical peels include redness, dryness, peeling, and a burning sensation. Post-inflammatory pigment changes, infection and scarring are possible, especially with deep chemical peels. Patients with darker skin types (IV – VI) are at higher risk of skin discoloration.

At Central Minnesota Dermatology, we offer PRX Derm Perfexion treatments. These treatments provide the same results as chemical peels but without the side effects and downtime associated with traditional chemical peels. This bio stimulating treatment utilizes hydrogen peroxide, 33% trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and kojic acid to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. The treatment also improves skin complexion by evening out the skin tone and texture. PRX treatments can be used anywhere on the body either as a standalone treatment or in combination with other treatments.

Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a minimally invasive skin resurfacing procedure that utilizes a scalpel or razor to remove the top layers of the skin. Dermaplaning can help reduce the appearance of sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars. It is also used to remove actinic keratoses (precancerous lesions), dull or dry skin, and fine hairs (peach fuzz). The procedure is typically painless, but you may feel a scratching or stinging sensation. The skin can be red, swollen and slightly tender after the procedure. A post-procedure balm will be applied after the dermaplaning. Over-the-counter pain relievers can be used if needed. A full-face treatment typically takes about 40 minutes.

Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds on services rendered. Results for aesthetic services can vary significantly from person to person. We will do our best to achieve your desired result, but outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Patients are responsible for any additional treatments that may be needed to achieve and maintain desired outcomes. If a package is purchased and the patient would like a refund for unused treatments, the refund amount will be calculated as the package price less the number of treatments used at the individual treatment price.
