Tissue Tightening with

An Overview

FormaV is an FDA-cleared non-invasive treatment that delivers targeted and precise bipolar radiofrequency (RF) energy to tighten tissue and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. Thermal energy flows between the electrodes providing enough heat that the tissue contracts without causing damage or burning of the skin. FormaV is painless, safe, and effective on all skin types.

The Science

FormaV leverages bipolar RF energy to heat the tissue causing contraction of the deep skin layers, increase blood flow, and stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin throughout the treatment area, thus restoring the strength, elasticity, and moisture of the vaginal canal.

FormaV treatments performed on the lining of the vagina result in better lubrication and elasticity of the vaginal canal which markedly relieves irritating vaginal and vulvar dryness as well as painful intercourse.

Additionally, treating the surface tissue of the vaginal canal improves the vaginal pH which helps treat recurrent bacterial and yeast infections.

Through increased collagen and elastin production, FormaV treatments result in better support to the bladder and urethra which helps relieve stress urinary incontinence. The tightened tissue provides a more complete bladder emptying and allows for better hygiene of the labia, resulting in less urinary tract infections (UTIs). The tightening of the vaginal canal, labia, and clitoral hood results in a more youthful appearance of the vulva, as well as increases sensation during intercourse.

FormaV uses A.C.E. (Acquire, Control, Extend) technology to ensure the treatment safely and adequately delivers exceptional and consistent results. The RF energy heats the skin to the appropriate temperature and extends the therapeutic temperatures long enough to signal the body to make new collagen and elastin. The technology is designed to use heat to achieve the desired result without compromising the integrity of the skin.

What to Expect

Treatments require minimal preparation, deliver minimal discomfort, and there is no downtime. FormaV treats vaginal dryness, loose or stretched tissue, pain with intercourse, stress incontinence, thinning of internal and external vaginal tissue, and decreased vaginal sensitivity.

Depending on your specific symptoms, treatment plans may include a combination of the EmpowerRF platform devices. During the consultation, you and your practitioner will create a custom plan based on your personal objectives to obtain optimal results. Typically, the best results with FormaV are seen in three 15- to 30-minute treatments received 4 – 6 weeks apart. As we continue to age, additional treatments will be necessary to maintain the desired results. These should be scheduled when you start experiencing symptoms again and are typically received annually.

During the treatment ultrasonic gel is applied to the FormaV device probe which is then inserted intravaginally. A warm sensation will be felt as the probe comfortably delivers RF energy in a sweeping motion. In addition to the vagina, FormaV can also be used on the vulva, perineum, and perirectal skin.
